Important Reminder- HEALESVILLE SANTUARY
Important Healesville Sanctuary Reminder:
We are going on our Healesville Santuary excursion this Friday. If you haven't brought back your notice and $25 yet, please get it in as soon as possible.
On Friday children need to be at school at 8.45am as we need to be on the bus at 9.00am.
Please REMEMBER to pack your snack and lunch in seperate, disposable bags.

In Our Classroom This Week
Welcome back to Term 4
I hope everyone has had a fanastic holiday and is feeling nice and relaxed and ready for our final term together.
Week 1:
AUSTRALIAN ANIMALS
Our Term 4 Integrated Topic is Australian Animals. We will be learning all about mammals, including the different types of mammals like monotremes, marsupials and placentals. We will also be learning about Australian reptiles, birds, amphibians and insects. In Term 4 we will be lucky enough to go on an excursion to Healesville Santuary, where the students can see the animals up close and personal. We are all very excited for this fun day.
MATHS FOCUS
This week in maths we are extending our understandings on number patterns.
LITERACY FOCUS
In literacy we are continuing to learn about capital letters and full stops.
Our BLEND of the week is 'ob'. See if you can think of some 'ob' words.
I can't wait to see everyone tomorrow and hear all about your break.

Wow...I cant believe it is the last week of term 3! In our final week we will be learning about:

This week in Transport 1G are learning about transport in the future. We will be designing our very own futuristic transport.

This week in maths we are learning about calculators. We are going to have lots of fun using them this week.

Our BLEND of the week is 'ib' and 'ix'. 1G did a terrific brainstorm on all the 'ib' and 'ix' words they knew. Some of them were rib, bib, nibble, dribble, fix, mix, mixture, six, sixteen and sixty. See if you can think of some more at home.
Keep up the hard work 1G.

Just checking in!
Hopefully everyone is enjoying our class blog and the links are useful at home. We have been using the blog lots in our classroom which is great. The children are looking forward to changing the background, colours, fonts and pictures around next week.

In Our Classroom This Week
WEEK 6:
TRANSPORT
Our Term 3 Integrated Topic is Transport. 1G are really enjoying the opportunity to learn more about Transport. So far some of the things we have discussed are Transports that use land, air and sea. We have done work on Road Safety, pollution, buses, trucks, bikes, motorbikes, trains and trams. This week we are learning about planes and helicopters.
MATHS FOCUS
This week in Maths we are doing our second week on MULTIPLICATION (groups of). The children would love to share their multiplication understanding with you at home.
LITERACY FOCUS
This week we have been learning about TALKING MARKS.
Our BLEND of the week is 'ip'. 1G did a terrific brainstorm on all the 'ip' words they knew. Some of them were pip, sip, lip, rip, slip, ship, dip and hip. See if you can think of some more at home.
Keep up the hard work 1G.
